What is a Miscellaneous Elevator?

A Miscellaneous Elevator is a vertical lifting device specifically used to transport goods (such as meals, daily necessities, small equipment, etc.), and is usually not allowed to carry passengers. It uses a motor to drive the car up and down in the shaft. It has the characteristics of compact structure, flexible load-bearing, and convenient installation. It is widely used in hotels, restaurants, hospitals, shopping malls and other scenarios to solve the vertical transportation needs of goods.

Why is the elevator called a Miscellaneous Elevator?
The name "Miscellaneous Elevator" comes from its core purpose - transporting non-personnel "miscellaneous items". Unlike passenger elevators, it was originally designed to efficiently deliver goods. The car is small in size and is not equipped with safety devices required for passengers (such as handrails, ventilation systems, etc.). In industry standards, this type of elevator is explicitly prohibited from carrying passengers, so it is named "Miscellaneous" to distinguish its functional positioning.

What is a Miscellaneous Elevator System?

The utility elevator system is mainly composed of a car, a shaft, a drive device, a control system, a safety device and a door system:
Car: a box for loading goods, the size of which is customized according to the load;
Drive device: usually a traction or hydraulic power system is used to drive the car up and down;

Can a small elevator accommodate one person?

No. The design of a small elevator (miscellaneous elevator) does not take into account the safety needs of people riding, its car space is small, and lacks the necessary safety facilities for passenger elevators (such as emergency rescue devices, ventilation systems). In addition, industry regulations clearly prohibit the carrying of people in miscellaneous elevators, and forced entry may cause safety accidents such as pinching and falling.
