The difference between fire elevators and ordinary elevators How to use fire elevators

Differences between fire elevators and ordinary elevators
(1) Fire elevators can generally operate normally in the event of a fire, while ordinary elevators do not have too many requirements.
(2) Fire elevators must have dual power supplies introduced into the distribution box at the end. When other power supplies are cut off, the fire elevator can still operate using the fire-dedicated power supply. Fire elevators have one more fire power supply than ordinary elevators. In the event of a fire, the fire power supply is used to supply power for firefighters to put out the fire and for people in the building to escape.
(3) A special operating button should be installed in the fire elevator, that is, after the fire alarm probe sends an alarm signal and confirms that it is a fire after a delay of 30 seconds, all other elevators will descend to the first floor. Only by pressing the special button can they operate. The running time of the fire elevator from the first floor to the top floor cannot exceed 60s.
(4) There are drainage facilities at the bottom of the fire elevator shaft. There is also a sump at the bottom of the fire elevator shaft, with a volume of not less than 2 cubic meters and a submersible sewage pump flow rate of not less than 10L/s, which is not available in ordinary elevators.
(5) There is also a special fire telephone in the fire elevator.
The difference between fire elevators and ordinary elevators is mainly reflected in the above aspects. Fire elevators have certain special features, and their functions are definitely different from those of ordinary elevators.

Basic settings of fire elevators

Ordinary elevators cannot be used as vertical evacuation tools in the event of a fire. The main reasons are as follows:
(1) No power supply guarantee
Because in the event of a fire, firefighters must cut off all normal working power supplies and activate emergency power supplies.
(2) Chimney effect
Because when the elevator is running, the elevator shaft loses its smoke-proof function and becomes a vertical channel for smoke and fire extraction, which not only promotes the spread of smoke and fire, but also threatens people's lives.
(3) Limited evacuation capacity
In the event of a fire, the elevator can only carry a dozen people at a time, and the rest have to wait, which will delay the evacuation time.
(4) If the elevator has an electrical failure (or power outage), the evacuees will be trapped in the elevator car and unable to escape. In case of emergency, do not take an ordinary elevator to escape. Know your location clearly and choose a safe way calmly. Stay away from the path of fire spread and the direction of smoke. If you are trapped in a closed area by open fire and smoke, call 119 immediately to inform the specific location so that rescue personnel can arrive at the scene and rescue as soon as possible.

How to use the fire elevator

(1) After arriving at the fire elevator vestibule on the first floor, first use the hand axe or other hard objects to break the glass protecting the fire elevator button, and then put the fire elevator button in the on position. The appearance of the buttons varies depending on the manufacturer. Some have only one round red button. To operate, just press the red button. Some have two operating buttons, one is black with the English word "OFF" on it, and the other is red with the English word "ON" on it. To operate, just press the red button marked "ON" to enter the fire state. The technical renovation office building has the former, while the new dormitories in buildings B2 and B3 have the latter.
(2) After the elevator enters the fire state, if the elevator is in operation, it will automatically descend to the first floor station and automatically open the door. If the elevator has already stopped at the first floor, it will automatically open;
(3) After entering the fire elevator car, the personnel should press the "close door" button tightly until the elevator door closes. After the elevator starts, they can let go. Otherwise, if you let go during the door closing process, the door will open automatically and the elevator will not start. In some cases, just pressing the door closing button is not enough. You should press the door closing button with your other hand while pressing the button for the floor you want to reach, and do not let go until the elevator starts.
